Superoxidation Remediation
Technology (SRT)

COUNTLESS SOILS AROUND THE WORLD ARE CONTAMINATED WITH CRUDE OIL AND OIL PRODUCTS, PERSISTENT ORGANIC POLLUTANTS LIKE PESTICIDES AND OTHER TOXIC ORGANIC SUBSTANCES – POSING THREATS TO HUMAN HEALTH AND VARIOUS ECOSYSTEMS. WE'RE HERE TO CHANGE THAT. HOLDING THE WORLDWIDE PATENT FOR A UNIQUE SUPEROXIDATION PROCESS, WE ENABLE THE DEGRADATION OF CONTAMINANTS AND THE REMEDIATION OF VARIOUS SUBSTRATES ON AN INDUSTRIAL SCALE – RAPID, SUSTAINABLE AND COST-EFFECTIVE.

Sustainable
Soil Remediation

Arvox Superoxidation Remediation Technology (SRT) is ideal for remediating soil, sand, and various types of mineral waste contaminated with hydrocarbons. The cleaned substrates can in many cases serve multiple purposes such as road construction base layers, backfilling, or as building materials.

Our approach focuses on preserving soil structure and organic content, minimising energy consumption, and reducing the overall carbon footprint of the treatment process. Besides emitting fewer atmospheric pollutants compared to thermal methods, our technique seamlessly integrates with biological soil restoration methods because the end-products of the reaction are highly biodegradable.

Special cases:
OBM & oil sludge processing

While oil-based muds (OBM) and cuttings are common waste products from drilling activities, they are challenging to clean due to their complex chemical composition. The same complexity applies to oil sludges, which are mixtures of oil and oil products, organic and inorganic substances, mineral particles, and water. As a result, each type of waste requires a tailored solution.

This is one of the reasons why we designed the Arvox formula with an ‘open architecture’ approach. This means we are not limited to a specific chemical composition, but can adjust the components of our preparations as needed. It allows us to be highly flexible, customising the composition to meet the specific requirements of the cleaning process for each substrate.

Solutions for OSR and oil recovery

When dealing with massive fresh oil spills, it may be preferable to remove petroleum hydrocarbons from the contaminated material. With a specially tailored Arvox approach we can efficiently separate the oily phase from the contaminated substrate. The recovered oil can then be used for refining purposes. This process is especially effective for soils that are highly contaminated with oil, have a significant mineral (sandy) content, and low organic content. It is also possible to use this technique for direct effective cleaning of the big shoreline objects (e.g. rocks, stones, coastal structures) with no surfactants or dispersants engaged.

Ready to use:
the Mobile
Treatment UNIT

Our mobile treatment unit is used for most applications and designed to be set up almost anywhere. Whether in the confined space of a drilling site or at a spilling area to avoid moving hazardous waste, this compact unit can be easily transported and installed quickly. Within its mixer unit, the substrate is blended with our Arvox components, initiating the remediation process – a highly economical and flexible solution.

More Information

To date, we have completed two successful projects in Oman.

In 2023, we successfully completed a project for Petroleum Development Oman (PDO). Beginning with a smaller-scale trial to test our technology for their specific requirements, the client tasked us with remediating 1,000 tonnes of stored Oil Based Mud Cuttings. In collaboration with the local oil and gas service company we delivered precisely that.

In 2025 Arva Greentech Remediation SPC partnered with the Environment Authority (EA) of Oman to remediate beach sand contaminated by marine oil spill, that happened in the Dhofar Governorate in July 2025. The project aims to safely return the treated sand to its original location in Salalah. The treatment was executed in a temporary Arva treatment facility located in Muscat.

All samples taken and tested demonstrated levels well below the required thresholds. We are currently in discussion for a large scale implementation of the technology.
