Advancing Sustainable Remediation: Arva’s Innovative Solutions at the ‘BioRem’ Workshop in Giessen

Dr. Seryy presents sustainable remediation techniques

In July 2024, Arva’s dedicated scientific team, consisting of Sergey Seryy (Head of R&D) and Volodymyr Harkavenko (Sustainability Division Manager), participated in the “BioRem” workshop at the Research Centre for BioSystems, Land Use, and Nutrition (iFZ) at Justus Liebig University Giessen. This workshop was part of the larger project titled “Between Europe and the Orient – A Focus on Research and Higher Education in Central Asia and the Caucasus.” The event provided a valuable platform for Arva to showcase its innovative technologies and engage with the academic community on critical issues related to sustainable remediation

During the workshop, our team had the opportunity to present detailed reports on Arva’s cutting-edge industrial superoxidation solutions. These technologies are designed to effectively address the disposal of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and petroleum hydrocarbons, which are significant challenges in sustainable remediation. The presentations highlighted how these solutions could be implemented to achieve environmentally sound soil remediation, ensuring that pollution is managed sustainably and effectively.

The feedback received from the scientific community was overwhelmingly positive. Experts praised Arva Greentech’s approaches and provided insightful comments that helped identify potential pathways for further development and implementation of these technologies. The discussions underscored the importance of bridging academic research and industrial application. It became evident that sustainable industrial projects can only be successfully developed by integrating academic knowledge into practical technological solutions. The collaboration between academia and industry holds the potential to drive innovation and create new opportunities for sustainable development.

We extend our gratitude to our scientific consultant Elbay Babayev (PhD, PostDoc, Associate Professor) and Professor Rolf-Alexander Duering for their invitation and support. Their guidance and expertise have been invaluable in shaping our participation in the workshop and fostering meaningful collaborations. We are eager to continue building on the connections made during this event, working together with academic institutions and experts to further advance our mission of promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility.
